I love catching Mackerel, would happily do it all day. They have this amazing vivid colour are meaty and taste incredible when fresh. Most importantly they are one of our most sustainable fish making a cost effective meal. Try and get a fishmonger to fillet the fish or do it yourself, always looking for bright eyes and red gills which will determine their freshness. This recipe with Masala spices combining with the strong flavour of the fish works brilliantly and is a good way to get those omega 3 oils into your system.
