This is so quick to knock up and tastes awesome. The Red pesto compliments the dish, giving it a real depth of flavour, and the added cream adds that little bit of richness. What with the smokiness from the chorizio and bacon, every mouthful becomes an adventure for your taste buds.

1 whole Onion diced (£0.13 ) 75 grams chorizo sliced 3-4mm thick (£0.68 ) 75 grams Bacon smoked streaky, chopped (£0.50 ) 10 grams Fresh parsley chopped (£0.20 ) 2 portions red pesto (£0.44 ) 10 ml olive oil (£0.05 ) 150 grams Penne Pasta (£0.15 )
Heat a saucepan of water. When boiling add pasta and a pinch of salt. Reduce heat and cover. Cook for about 12 minutes. Heat the oil in a pan. Add sliced chorizio and bacon. Fry for about 4 minutes until everything starts to brown. Add the onion, frying until it softens (3 minutes). Drain pasta, then add to the pan with onions and chorizio. Mix in the chopped parsley and 2 big dollops of red pesto. Plate up depending on how many people you are cooking for. Dress with a little parmesan and black pepper and serve.
