This excellent side dish, is quick to put together and just pops into the oven for an hour while you get on with your main course. Its a great way to use up those old potatoes and crusty tubs of cream which have been hanging around for too long. A teaspoon of nutmeg gives it an earthy hint, and the black pepper hit rounds off the proceedings perfectly.

Ingredients
  • 150 ml Cream
  • 150 ml Milk
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 500 grams Potatoes
  • 5 grams nutmeg
  • 3 grams Salt
  • 5 grams Black pepper

Cook Time: 1 hour 15 minutes.
  1. Peel the potatoes, and slice thinly. Then crush the garlic.
  2. Mix the cream, milk, garlic, nutmeg , salt and black pepper together. Toss in the sliced potatoes, then pour all the mixture into a gratin dish or flan dish.
  3. Bake at 140 degrees for 1 hour and fifteen minutes. Allow 10 minutes to cool, then serve.
