I’m not saying cooking has cured me from primary progressive multiple sclerosis (ppms), it hasn’t – that’s confined me to a wheelchair. but 20 years on from diagnosis, I’m still punching above my weight, holding the line and fuelling my body the home cooked way.

I was lucky growing up as we had a large vegetable/fruit garden and kept chickens. My mum was a great cook and we largely ate what we produced. Topped up by trips to the supermarket and trout and crayfish I caught in the nearby river.

It was a great introduction to eating the right way and sharing good times with family and friends. That philosophy has been with me ever since, as has the desire to keep learning about and cooking tasty food.

I’ve moved around England a lot and love the different regional offerings and ethnic diversity of flavours available in our cities – it has been a huge influence on my journey. In addition travels abroad have allowed me to try different cuisines and add my own slant to recipes I’ve come across.

I hope you enjoy what the site delivers. The writings and blogs are my take on life and the recipes are what I like to eat – hopefully you’ll like them too.

All the best
